About me
I am a language professional with almost 30 years of experience as a translator, proofreader/editor, writer, and project manager.
Based in the north of the Netherlands, I can help you bring across your message in Dutch – by writing it directly in Dutch, by translating your existing text from English, German or Danish* into Dutch, or by proofreading or editing any Dutch material you may already have.
Over the years, I’ve experienced the translation profession from all sides. I was a software translator at Microsoft’s European headquarters in Dublin, and held various translation and management positions at two translation agencies in Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Since November 2001, I’ve been an independent freelance translator, working for dozens of clients in Europe and the rest of the world.
I graduated from the Maastricht School of Translation and Interpreting with English and Spanish as working languages. I also studied Scandinavian Languages & Cultures with Danish as a main language, combined with Computational Linguistics and Arctic Studies at the University of Groningen.
I’ve been a member of the Netherlands Association of Interpreters and Translators (NGTV) since 1989.
*While English, German and Danish are currently my main source languages, I also translate from Norwegian (bokmål), French and Spanish.
